Aloha Christ Lutheran Sisters and Brothers!

The Board of Elders and I have been working on a worship plan as we look ahead to the possibility that the civil authorities may allow for more options for churches to gather in person in the near future. I have also been in consultation with our Church Council in this process.

While some of our neighbor islands have already lifted restrictions and that may be on the horizon on our island, we have concluded that for a number of reasons, we will be better served here at Christ Lutheran by waiting to resume our on-site services. We are going to continue to provide our worship services as we have been, online. Click HERE to visit the page with our services.

I ask for your understanding and patience. A great deal of thought, prayer and conversation has gone into this and we believe that this is in the best interest of the most people and also in terms of the big picture of things for our congregation. When we gather again, I hope that our worship services can be meaningful and not constrained by so many limitations that the sanctity of worship is compromised.

I know that there are a variety of perspectives on this entire COVID 19 situation and regardless of the decisions we make, some will disagree. Obviously, things will be different whenever we meet next, but hopefully by waiting, we can experience more of the joy we are accustomed to in our services than we would be able to have right away when the restrictions are initially lifted.

Again, I ask for your understanding, patience and continued prayers. God is still working to draw all people to Himself, even as we share the Good News of Jesus in this way.

Blessings in Christ, Pastor Mark
