2021 is well underway and I pray that so far you are finding joy in your journey. I always think about this time of the year as a time of increasing brightness and hope. Maybe because of growing up in the Pacific Northwest, the daylight would begin to run just a little longer each day and I could tell the new life of spring wasn't far off.

In the life of the church, we're soon going to enter the season of Lent, which ironically can feel a bit dark, at least at times. I know that Lent is a season for repentance and reflection on our need for forgiveness, but I also like to use it as a time for intentionlly working on, and growing in my faith.

This year on Wednesday evenings, we're going to focus on five principles of faithfullness and I hope you'll spend a few minutes with us online each week as we use these principles to lead us more fully into the new life Christ offers us. (The service should be posted by 5:15pm HST each Wednesday.)

On Ash Wednesday, I'll introduce the five principles in our services both online and as we gather in-person for those who can attend. That service will also include the Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion as we worship at 5:15pm.

So, I encourage you to join me in pursuing some new life during the coming weeks. I would love to hear from you as you make the journey and especially if you have prayer requests or things you're celebrating.

May God grant you joy and peace for the adventure ahead.
