After faithful service and effective leadership, Pastor Mark Zier retired in May of 2025. He, and his wife, Beth, were deep blessings to the ministry of Christ Lutheran Church, and they are and will be deeply missed.

In July 2025, the congregation called Pastor Paul Linnemann to serve as their Transitional Interim Pastor. His call is to help the congregation identify their ministry and help them call their next full time pastor. This process involves prayerful conversation and seeking the answer to the question, "What does God have in mind for the ministry here?"

Pastor Paul and Cindy departed Hilo on June 15, after serving faithfully for nearly a year. Our vacancy pastor, Rev Nathan Kilian, officiated at his first services on Sunday, July 5.  

The documents below are the product of the Cottage Meetings held in November, 2025 and the demographic studies we received from the California-Nevada-Hawaii District in August.
